Elephant Falls From Above Mountain
Morning mist still clung to the mountain when the elephant lost its footing. The steep path, worn smooth by years of rain and wind, gave no warning. One moment the massive animal stood steady, testing the ground with quiet patience; the next, stones shifted beneath its weight. A low rumble echoed across the valley as the elephant slid downward, struggling to regain balance on the unforgiving slope.
Dust rose into the air as trees snapped and shrubs flattened under the force of its fall. The mountain seemed to hold its breath. Far below, birds scattered, startled by the thunderous sound rolling through the cliffs. The elephant trumpeted in fear, a powerful cry that carried pain and determination at once. Despite its size, the animal fought the fall, digging tusks and feet into the earth, slowing its descent inch by inch.
At last, the slope softened. The elephant landed heavily on a narrow ledge, shaken but alive. For a long moment, it stood still, sides heaving, eyes wide with shock. Slowly, it tested its legs, discovering strength still remained. The mountain had challenged it, but not defeated it.
As the mist lifted, the elephant turned away from the edge, wiser now. Each careful step forward became a reminder that even the strongest creatures must respect nature’s heights and hidden dangers.
