The Elephant Is Trying to Find Food
In the dry heart of the savanna, a lone elephant wanders slowly beneath the blazing sun. His massive ears flap gently to cool his body as he searches for food. The land around him is dusty and cracked, and the green grass that once covered the plains has turned brown with the passing drought. Yet the elephant doesn’t give up. Guided by memory, he moves toward a distant grove where he remembers sweet leaves and fruit once grew.
Each step he takes leaves deep prints in the earth. He uses his powerful trunk to sniff the air, searching for the faint scent of vegetation. Along the way, he uproots a few dry bushes, tasting them hopefully, but they crumble between his tusks. Still, he presses on. The elephant knows that survival means persistence.
At last, he reaches the edge of a riverbed, now reduced to a narrow stream. Nearby, green shoots peek through the soil—fresh grass! With a low rumble of relief, the elephant tears at the tender plants, savoring every bite. He drinks deeply from the shallow water, his trunk spraying cool droplets over his dusty back.
As the sun sets, painting the sky gold and red, the elephant finally rests. His hunger eased, he stands silently beneath an acacia tree, ready to continue his endless journey for food when dawn returns.
