Mother Elephant Saves Baby Elephant From River Bank
The morning sun shimmered over the wide, flowing river as a herd of elephants arrived to drink and cool off. Among them was a young mother with her playful baby, who was excited to splash in the shallow water. The baby elephant trumpeted with joy, stepping closer to the riverbank, unaware of how slippery the mud had become after the rain. Suddenly, the little one lost its footing and tumbled into the deep water below.
A loud cry echoed through the forest. The mother elephant reacted instantly, trumpeting in alarm. She rushed toward the edge, her giant feet sinking into the soft mud as she reached her trunk into the river. The baby struggled, its tiny trunk flailing helplessly as the current pulled it further away. The herd gathered nearby, trumpeting encouragement while the mother fought to stay balanced.
With powerful determination, she extended her trunk, wrapped it tightly around her baby’s small body, and pulled with all her strength. Inch by inch, the baby was lifted from the swirling water until finally it was safe on the bank again.
The mother gently touched her baby’s forehead, rumbling softly to calm its fear. The herd surrounded them, as if celebrating the brave rescue. That day, the young elephant learned that a mother’s love is stronger than any river current.
